A TikTok Freakout and Labels

Imagine living in a world where depression, alcoholism and suicide don't matter anymore. Imagine living in a world where a dental hygienist wears full body protective gear when she goes to work. Imagine a world where kids are having panic attacks because TikTok may be banned. Today on the Spiritual Spiral, I talk about the impact of Covid-19 and social media on people's day to day lives and I wonder if life will ever look the same. I also try and explain why I have issues when the media and our culture throw out blanket statements which are meant to try and represent the collective experience happening in our society. Is there systemic racism and white privilege? Of course there is and we have to do what we can to eliminate them but do they represent what the vast majority of people are experiencing? How do we compare one person's hard life to another when every single one of us are destined to have good days and bad days. Is life ever truly easy or fair for anyone? I also play a powerful clip from Barak Obama where he talks about race relations in America.
