I just returned home from a six day vacation in Mexico City and Tulum and I find myself inevitably losing a little bit of faith in mankind. Everywhere I turn, people seem to be freaking out over the coronavirus and most of us still have no idea if any of the information we're receiving is actually true. Even if an epidemic doesn't occur which I still believe will be the case, it feels like the media doesn't care about truth or facts but simply wants to create mass chaos and cultural anxiety. Today on the Spiritual Spiral, I try to make sense of the irrational behavior from human beings especially in supposed times of crises. I share a story where I'm at the grocery store and someone is trying to get away with using the express lane even though they have well over ten items. I share thoughts about a recent story where Spike Lee is simply overreacting and pulling out the "victim card" instead of being rational and cooperative and I also talk about The Circle, an incredibly thought provoking book by Dave Eggers who is one of my favorite "authors." Listen to the episode to find out why I put the word "author" in parentheses. It has to do with Facebook once again changing the definition of a word. If you enjoy the show, there are a few things you can do that would be incredibly helpful. You could share it with your friends or head on over to iTunes and write a quick review. Message me on Instagram @eddiecohn and say hello or you can also support the show by visiting my Patreon page at patreon.com/eddiecohn. As always, thanks so much for listening and supporting the show.
