What are the ramifications of living in a society where masks are everywhere? How are children going to respond to staring at screens all day while wearing masks? Is it a good thing if we have more germaphobes and hypochondriacs? Today on the Spiritual Spiral, I felt inspired to talk about my trip back home to Ohio and I wonder how we can possibly recover from the onslaught of fear, social distance and mask wearing. I talk about my own struggles as a germaphobe and hypochondriac and I worry we're simply creating more of this neurotic behavior. I talk about the media and their clever usage of catchy phrases like "new normal" to brainwash people into thinking this bizarre way of living is normal. Newsflash--- It's not. I also felt compelled to talk about the passing of Eddie Van Halen who was one of my childhood heroes.
